Our street address is:

Physics Department
Università degli Studi di Milano
Via Celoria 16
20133 Milano
ITALY

The Physics Department (PD) is located in Milano - Italy - Europen Union, at the marked address in the map below.

Access through a grey iron gate ∼30 m east of the via Celoria - via Ponzio crossroad.

Nick's room, labeled A/T/C11, is at ground floor of the "LITA" building. In detail, as you enter the W (i.e. right) hall from Via Celoria, remain at the ground floor and walk to the right through a grey metal door into a long corridor. Turn left into this corridor and follow it straight ahead across 3 doors, a stairway hall and a secondary entrance hall, into the corridor labeled Sezione Struttura della Materia: after entering a fourth and final door (a digicode is required: if you are a physicist you can guess it, otherwise phone Nick), Nick's room is the 10th door at the left. Coordinates: Latitude 45.4758 N Longitude 9.2304 E.

The closest subway (metro) stop is Piola (Piazza Piola), about 800 m's walk to the PD. Line 2 stops there: this line connects (among places) three railway stations: Milano Centrale (main station), Milano Pta Garibaldi, and Milano Cadorna.

From Malpensa airport - MXP: take the rail link to Milano Centrale or Milano Pta Garibaldi or Milano Cadorna, then the subway Line 2 direction Cologno-Gessate to stop Piola, then walk. Total time: approx 100 minutes.

From Linate airport - LIN: take street bus 73 - direction San Babila, step off at "Campania Corsica" (ask the driver); walk along Viale Campania northbound (when coming from Linate, it is the broad avenue to the right) approx 50 m and switch to bus 93 direction Lambrate. Step off at Celoria-Istituto Besta (6 stops). Total time: approx 40 minutes. (Linate is by far the most convenient airport.)

From the Orio al Serio / Bergamo airport - BGY If you are lucky you may catch the infrequent direct bus to the Lambrate railway station: catch that one than walk 20 min to the PD or take street bus 93 (Total time: approx 80 minutes). Otherwise, take one of the frequent buses to Milano Centrale FS, then metro line 2 direction Gessate/Cologno stop Piola. Total time: approx 90-100 minutes.

The closest railway station is Lambrate FS, with connections from/to Bergamo, Venezia/Verona/Brescia, Cremona/Treviglio, Mantova, Ancona/Bologna/Piacenza/Lodi, Ventimiglia/La Spezia/Genova/Alessandria/Asti/Pavia. It is located Piazza Bottini, about 1200 m's walk to the PD. Lazy walkers can catch the 93 bus - direction Omero - to the PD (step off at Celoria-Istituto Besta, 5 stops).

In case you are coming from any of a few nearby towns (e.g. Saronno, Treviglio, Lodi, Pavia) through the local rail link called passante ferroviario, consider disembarking at the Porta Vittoria stop, then catch the 93 bus northbound (direction Lambrate), and step off at Celoria-Istituto Besta (7th stop).
